BIA
The Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) and FHWA are partners in managing the Tribal Transportation Program (TTP). We are both committed to developing more consistent program administration and delivery, and are working together to improve the program's effectiveness in Indian Country. The BIA's Division of Transportation provides management and oversight of the road maintenance and road construction programs; transportation related program activities are provided directly and through contracts, grants, compacts and other appropriate agreements to American Indian and Alaska Natives including:
- Operation and Maintenance of BIA roads
- TTP
- Programs administered through the Federal Highway Administration that are specifically related to TTPs
For more information on the BIA's role in delivering the TTP, please see: https://www.bia.gov/.
