Description
The Mt. Wilson Express is a collaboration between the City of Pasadena, Nature for All, and the U.S. Forest Service. This pilot express service will provide Los Angeles County’s first public transportation to the Angeles National Forest between Spring-Fall 2025. Understanding the impacts of urban transit on public lands is crucial for this nationally significant shuttle infrastructure pilot to adequately service passengers who need it most. The research team will collect pre/post data to evaluate the impacts of implementing the shuttle service. Data collection will include surveys to understand visitors’ transportation mode shift, stewardship, experience, and perceptions; parking counts; trail counters, and mapping of trash, human waste, vandalism to guide adaptive management.
