Description

Further studies of License Plate Reader (LPR) technology can help to improve our understanding of vehicle flow and movement. This project will develop best practices for the use of License Plate Reader (LPR) technology on various federal lands settings while meeting federal data security and privacy requirements. Understanding vehicle flow and movement is critical for maintaining a high-quality visitor travel experience. The technologies for monitoring travel levels and patterns are rapidly evolving and park managers need to know what congestion and flow monitoring technology will work in various park settings.
