Winifred North

Project Description:

Secondary Highway 236 (S-236), also known as PN Bridge Road, is located approximately 4 miles northwest of Winifred. The purpose of this project is to improve safety features, drainage, and aggregate surfacing along the road, which provides access to the Upper Missouri River Breaks National Monument and the Missouri River. The project corridor serves residential, agricultural, commercial, and recreational needs. S-236 is a major collector on Montana’s secondary highway system and connects the towns of Winifred and Big Sandy.

Roadway improvements along 18.60 miles of the roadway are planned and include drainage, sub-excavation, roadway reconditioning, aggregate surfacing, aggregate stabilization (with calcium chloride), guardrail, cattle guards and signage.
