Urban Transit to Trails: Mt. Wilson Express Shuttle
Status
Not Started.
Description
The Mt. Wilson Express, led by City of Pasadena, Nature for All, and the U.S. Forest Service, will provide Los Angeles County’s first public transportation to the Angeles National Forest, anticipated Spring-Fall 2025. Understanding the impacts of urban transit on public lands is crucial for this nationally significant, new shuttle infrastructure pilot. The research team will collect pre/post data to evaluate the impacts of implementing the shuttle service. Data collection will include surveys to understand visitors’ transportation mode shift, stewardship, experience, perceptions; parking counts; trail counters, and mapping of trash, human waste, vandalism to guide adaptive management.
