Pg 82-96: NCHRP Report 674 Crossing Solutions at Roundabouts and Channelized Turn Lanes for Pedestrians with Vision Disabilities
This chapter presents an interpretation of the findings of research performed under NCHRP Project 3-78A in the context of application to engineering practice. The chapter initially presents a synthesis of the study approach, followed by a summary of the field studies performed during this project. It then discusses specific implications for facility Design And accessibility considerations at the three tested facility types: channelized turn lanes, single-lane Roundabout, and two lane Roundabout. The chapter concludes with a discussion of future research needs and recommendations for follow-up work to this project.
