The purpose of this guidance is to present basic guidelines for work zone traffi c control for pedestrians and bicyclists. This information is intended to illustrate the principles of proper work zone traffi c control for pedestrians and bicyclists, but is not a standard. The Virginia Work Area Protection Manual contains the standards for temporary traffi c control zones for roadways in Virginia and can be accessed at VirginiaDOT.org, Business Center.
