Hispanic Pedestrian Flyer: Crosswalks and Signals

fhwa-sa-05-021.pdf (382.45 KB)

Material para Hispanico Peaton y Bicyclists

The photograph shows a mother and several children crossing the street. The traffic light has a walk symbol for the pedestrians. The mother has one hand on a stroller with a child and two other children are holding onto her. The mother is looking at an approaching car that is making a left turn towards their crosswalk. Dotted lines that arrive at a body outline indicate where the paths of the car and one of the pedestrians would meet if they continue on their present paths. The text reads: Did you know? Even if you know the meaning of the signals and the crosswalk, don't assume drivers will stop for you. Make eye contact with the driver to be sure the driver sees you.
