Kevin McLaury, P.E., SES
Division Director, Western Federal Lands Highway Division

As Division Director for the Federal Highway Administration s Western Federal Lands Highway Division, Kevin provides senior executive leadership to a multi-disciplinary staff of over 230 skilled and knowledgeable employees. He works closely with the Federal Land Management Agencies in the West in the delivery of road and bridge improvement projects on Federal and Tribal lands such as our National Parks, Wildlife Refuges, and Indian Reservations.
Prior to his current assignment as Division Director, Kevin served FHWA as the Deputy Director of Field Services West, Division Administrator in the Montana Division and the Assistant Division Administrator in Oklahoma. Other locations he has served the agency include: Kentucky, Washington DC, Nebraska, the Philadelphia Metro Office and the Illinois Division Office. He also served the agency as the Acting IT Director/Deputy CIO and Acting Director of Field Services West. Kevin s professional experience outside FHWA includes considerable construction experience having "grown up in the business." His experience includes work as a field engineer for a large national construction company, a design engineer for a small consulting firm and superintendent on a many construction projects for his father s construction company. Kevin also served in the U.S. Air Force as a heavy equipment operator and a member of the elite Red Horse heavy equipment unit.
Kevin holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from South Dakota State University and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Nebraska Lincoln. He is a registered professional engineer in good standing and is a member of the ASCE and ITE.
In his free time, Kevin enjoys the outdoors which includes hiking, mountain biking and camping. He also enjoys fly fishing and hunting. He is a native of Parkston, SD. He and his wife, Marilyn, have two grown sons.
