This information guide documents the roadway data improvement program (RDIP) technical assistance process as well as the findings and current practices of 13 States who received RDIP technical assistance from 2013 to 2016. The guide documents the purpose of the RDIP and some of the many reasons why quality roadway data are important to safety programs and the project development process. Users will benefit from identifying common recommendations among these States for improving roadway data collection and technical standards, data analysis tools and uses, data management and governance, and data sharing and integration.
