Mapillary is a street-level imagery platform. For transportation agencies, the tool offers a cloud-hosted solution for right-of-way imagery and pavement imagery (imported to Mapillary as photologs of the entire road network, or as spot collections with consumer-grade cameras and phones). The imagery and data stored in Mapillary’s cloud are accessible across desktop and mobile applications. Users can access, view, and navigate on mapillary.com while developers leverage through Application Programming Interface (API), to access, view, and navigate on mapillary.com as well as integrations in third-party geospatial tools, including the ArcGIS suite, Geocortex Essentials, and custom web maps. The GIS integrations allow users to review and edit data layers related to asset management, road surveys, crash analysis, safety assessment, and pavement maintenance. Mapillary’s computer vision capabilities enable automatic extraction of 96 types of road features from the imagery, including traffic signs, potholes, and guardrails. The map features are made available in the form of standard geospatial format (i.e., shapefile or geojson).
