This information guide lists many low-cost safety treatments with brief explanations of their effectiveness, cost, and various considerations for implementation. This tool presents various signing, marking, cable barrier, and rumble strip treatments. Each countermeasure is described over the course of a two-page section. The final section of the report provides a high-level overview of crash studies and the roadway safety management process, which is helpful for local agencies and stakeholders with little or no experience analyzing road safety or planning safety improvement projects.
