Life-Cycle Cost Estimation Tool (LCCET) for Intersection Designs

Description:

The Life-Cycle Cost Estimation Tool (LCCET) is a Microsoft Excel-based tool that transportation planners and engineers can use to compare life-cycle costs of alternative designs for new and existing intersections. A related user guide discusses the life-cycle cost estimation methodology, walks through the LCCET interface and data inputs, and provides six case studies to demonstrate the calculation of life-cycle costs of various intersection design alternatives. The tool can be used to compare the costs and benefits of alternative intersection designs, support programming and funding decisions, and compare benefit-cost ratios for a given design alternative to a base case for a facility type. The tool is applicable to stop-controlled, signalized, roundabout, and innovative intersection designs.
