South Fork Road

The project is located approximately 20 miles southwest of the Town of Cody. Southfork Road is an extension of Wyoming State Highway 291 which proceeds southwest from its intersection with Yellowstone Avenue (US Highway 14) in Cody (Milepost 0) past the Buffalo Bill Reservoir (near Milepost 9.4) to the Shoshone National Forest boundary near Milepost 29.2. The County assumes ownership and maintenance of the road southwest of Milepost 9.4. The Phase 2 project proposes the reconstruction (4R) of a 3.5-mile length of Southfork Road.  The project proposes a 28-foot pavement width with a 12-foot lane in each direction to tie into the Phase 1 improvements completed in 2021.

Proposed improvements include 3 base schedules, depending on bid prices:

  • Schedule A: 2.3 miles
  • Schedule B: 3.2 miles
  • Schedule C: 3.5 miles
