Gateway Sports Parking Area and Riding Academy Access Road and Parking Area Rehabilitation

Gateway Sports Parking Area (Route 901): (GPS Coordinates: 40.590048, -73.901110). This parking lot area is 78,055 square feet. This project will reconstruct a 100-145-car parking area at the site of the existing parking area. The existing entrance and exit will remain and the reclaimed open space will be used as a vegetative buffer and a water treatment area. The drainage will be considered as the existing parking area experiences storm water ponding after rain events. The work will include pavement reconstruction, permanent striping, temporary traffic control, placement of aggregate base, asphalt pavement, possible light pole relocations, and construction of drainage facilities. The parking area can be accessed from Flatbush Avenue from the east.

Riding Academy Access Road (Route 205): (GPS Coordinates: 40.6089, -73.89692). The project will reconstruct the pavement and provide signage and speed humps. The work will include pavement removal, permanent striping, temporary traffic control, placement of aggregate base, asphalt pavement and construction of drainage facilities. The access road can be accessed from Belt Parkway from the west.

Riding Academy Parking Area (Route 1028): (GPS Coordinates: 40.607929, -73.897354). This parking lot area is 17,488 square feet. The work will include pavement reconstruction, permanent striping, new gate, speed hump, wheel stops, and temporary traffic control during construction. Parking lot reconfiguration will be considered to allow for better circulation.  Additional work will involve reconstruction of riding academy s private entrance from the Park Boundary line to the back of the building.
