Duck Creek Road

Project Description: 

The Duck Creek Road project is comprised of 4.8 miles two lane pave and aggregate surfaced loop road which provides access to recreation opportunities along the Fort Peck Marina, Duck Creek Recreation Area, local campsites and the greater Charles M. Russell Wildlife Refuge. The road is maintained by Valley County and is partially on U.S. Army Corp of Engineers public lands. It is located 2 miles west of Fort Peck, Montana off Highway 24.

Scope of Work:

  • Reconstruct the existng 1.1 mile asphalt pavement segment with a consistent 28 paved surface.
  • Reduce snow drilling and increase vertcal sight distance by upgrading 0.6 mile of gravel roadway.
  • Recondition and stabilize 3.1 miles of gravel roadway to reduce dust and migration of surface aggregate.
  • Repair existing roadway drainage.
  • Maintain a 30 surface width on the gravel roadway
