Project Description
The project is funded under the Emergency Relief for Federally Owned Roads program (ERFO). Forest was devastated by a 1,000-year storm between June 23 and June 26, 2016, causing widespread road damage that included slides, loss of surfacing, heavy rutting and structural damage. There are five sites on FS-86 that will be included under this project, and they are located at Mileposts (MP) 15.0, MP 15.8, MP 16.6, MP 17.2, and MP 18.3-18.4. One site on FS-133 and one site on FS-425 will be included in the project. The work includes bridge replacement, aggregate base, embankment construction, shoulder and ditch reconditioning, pipe culvert replacement, riprap, and other miscellaneous work. FS-86 is also known as Williams River Road, and can be accessed from State Route 20 (Webster Road) in the west, and from State Route 150 (Highland Scenic Highway) in the east. FS-133 is also known as White Oak Knob Road, and is accessed from FS-86.
