Project Description:

The purpose of the project is to improve the condition and extend the life of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Repair areas of serious damage and overlay sections 1L and 1M from Milepost 97 to Milepost 121 to include associated overlooks, parking areas and other miscellaneous work within the sections. Work includes Full-Depth Reclamation (FDR), 8-inch depth, followed by asphalt pavement overlay or mill and asphalt pavement overlay, resurfacing, restoration, and rehabilitation of the associated overlooks and ramps. Drainage features will be rehabilitated and MUTCD signs will be replaced and placed onto breakaway posts. Guardrail within the project limits will be reviewed for crashworthiness and replaced if needed.
