Low-Altitude Laser Surveys Provide Flexibility and Savings

The Federal Highway Administration's Central Federal Lands Highway Division (CFLHD) Survey and Right-of-Way Team recently tackled two challenging road surveys with low-altitude LiDAR terrain measurements made from a helicopter. LiDAR, which stands for light detection and ranging, has been used frequently to map and survey from airplanes and satellites.
