Project Abstract:
The strategic initiative project will address some of the critical human factors issues related to driver behavior in the presence of truck platoons. Two possible key research topics to be examined include drivers entering and exiting a freeway with the presence of a variable number of platoons as well as whether an external visual display/indication on the platooning trucks improves a road user's ability to travel in the presence of the platoon.
