This field guide identifies common and showy roadside invasive grasses and forbs, all of which are on various State noxious weed lists. Several of the plants are native to the US, but are not native to specific geographic areas in which they are known to be invasive. These plants can invade and degrade both agricultural land and natural areas. Invasive plant species are common to many regions of the United States and continue to adapt and move to new habitats, particularly disturbed roadside areas. Many of these plants are also common garden species. For additional information go to:

Missouri has about 400 bridges currently eligble for the National Register of Historic Places. Not all are on the register and not all have been put online for bridge buffs to review. Nonetheless, the following sites will link you to the online material for Missouri's historic bridges.

Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs) are agencies or organizational arrangements that carry out the required planning process as described in the Federal-Aid Highway Act of 1962. The Act required, as a condition attached to federal transportation financial assistance, that transportation projects in urbanized areas of 50,000 or more in population be based on a continuing, comprehensive, urban transportation planning process undertaken cooperatively by the states and local governments. As such, MPOs have responsibility for planning, programming and coordination of federal highway and transit investments in the urban areas which they cover.
Missouri has nine MPOs that perform the planning functions for the St Louis, Kansas City, Springfield, Columbia, Joplin, St Joseph and Jefferson City, Cape Girardeau and Bella Vista urban areas.

Innovation is: production or adoption, assimilation, and exploitation of a value-added novelty in
economic and social spheres; renewal and enlargement of products, services, and markets;
development of new methods of production; and establishment of new management systems. It is both a process and an outcome. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Innovation)
Innovation is synonymous with risk-taking and organizations that create revolutionary products or technologies take on the greatest risk because they create new markets.
The MO Division provides support to MoDOT and all our partners in all things innovation related.
