Melissa Braid
Melissa Braid is the Director of Public Affairs for the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) at the U.S. Department of Transportation. She leads FHWA’s communications efforts to advance the Trump Administration’s policy priorities and initiatives related to the nation’s highways and infrastructure.
Before joining FHWA, Braid served as Communications Director for the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation. She has also held several communications positions in the U.S. House of Representatives. During the first Trump Administration, she led digital strategy at the Department of Homeland Security as the Digital Director and served as Deputy Press Secretary at the Department of the Interior.
She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism and Strategic Communications from the University of Kansas.
