Suzanne Te Beau-Rohde
Suzanne Te Beau-Rohde is Chief Counsel of the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) at the U.S. Department of Transportation. As Chief Counsel, she oversees all aspects of the FHWA’s legal matters, provides strategic advice and direction to USDOT and FHWA leadership on FHWA matters, and leads a legal team of 45 attorneys in four offices across the country.
Before joining FHWA, Te Beau-Rohde served as Chief Counsel of the Federal Transit Administration (FTA), where she advised USDOT and FTA leadership on legal and policy issues related to Federal transit programs and the nation’s public transportation systems.
Prior to her current USDOT service, Te Beau-Rohde was with the law firm of Lippes Mathias in Washington, D.C., as a member of the firm’s transportation practice. Previously, her career has included senior positions in both the legislative and executive branches of the Federal Government, serving several USDOT secretaries, a member of the National Transportation Board, and members of Congress. In the private sector, she has also held positions with several transportation consulting and law firms, serving clients in the transportation industry.
Te Beau-Rohde earned her J.D. from the Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law and her B.A. from the University of Michigan, and attended Johns Hopkins University for continued studies.
