Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Oversees the Turner-Fairbank Highway Research Center (TFHRC) travel guidance to staff; creates and reviews staff travel authorizations; disseminates U.S. Department of Transportation headquarters policies; and enforces adherence to Federal travel guidelines
  • Provides routine updates of TFHRC offices to the E2 Solutions travel team at U.S. Department of Transportation headquarters, to ensure the travel system properly reflects TFHRC staffing and operations
  • Provides center-wide timecard access and approval rights, ensuring TFHRC timecards are properly completed by the administrative support staff. Offers TFHRC staff guidance on Consolidated Automated System for Time and Labor Entry (CASTLE) timekeeping procedures. Ensures timely approval of timecards when members of the TFHRC leadership team are out of the office
  • Provides backup service to the TFHRC Associate Administrator (AA), by request of the AA.  Ensures temporary coverage of the Senior Advisor and the Executive Assistant to the AA
  • Assists the Financial Manager in the funding allotments and oversight of financial reconciliations. Serves as backup funds certifier in the Performance and Registration Information Systems Management (PRISM) application
  • Coaches the human resources (HR) liaison and serves as backup for TFHRC HR duties
  • Provides administrative support, guidance, and advice for the TFHRC contracted administrative support task order
  • Acts as the TFHRC lead for the Electronic Document Management System (EDMS). Reviews high-level TFHRC correspondence, trains junior staff in EDMS, coordinates with the Office of the Federal Highway Administrator Executive Secretariat on high profile, politically sensitive material to ensure clear communication of correspondence to industry stakeholders from TFHRC Leadership. Serves as the EDMS office lead for all Office of Research, Development, and Technology correspondence
  • Works on special projects as assigned such as food services for TFHRC facility
