The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) works closely with our State department of transportation partners to increase the safety and longevity of the Nation’s highway system. The agency does this through the partnership with the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO), where the State agencies and FHWA work together to study and implement transportation standards and test methods.
