Publication Information

Publication Type:
Report
Publication Number:
FHWA-HRT-24-126
Abstract:

This report summarizes the before and after operational performance of intersection modifications that have been converted from traditional intersections to alternative configurations. These changes are largely based on reconfiguration of left turns or U-turns. The studied locations were from Arizona, Minnesota, Texas, and Virginia.

The report may be of interest to transportation practitioners conducting transportation design, operations, and safety research with an objective of better understanding the operational and safety performance of alternative intersection configurations.
