Development of Speed Crash Modification Factors (CMFs) Using SHRP2 Roadway Information Database (RID), Volume I: Final Report

Publication Information

Publication Type:
Report
Publication Number:
FHWA-HRT-24-129
Abstract:

The report highlights the research that was conducted under transportation pooled fund study TPF-5(361): SHRP2 Naturalistic Driving Study Pooled Fund: Advancing Implementable Solutions (NCHRP 2023), for which the goal is to develop novel, multidisciplinary solutions based on recorded natural behavior of vehicle operators interacting with infrastructure and other vehicles. Speed can have serious safety impacts, especially on the severity of crashes.

This research will be of interest to roadway designers, safety professionals, and others with an interest in speed management.
