This report provides an overview of the research conducted by the Federal Highway Administration, with use cases developed at the Saxton Transportation Operations Laboratory. The use cases were developed, tested, and validated using low-latency communications technology operating on the 5.9-GHz safety band. The researchers considered five scenarios involving one or more use cases in either dense urban or highway environments, thereby placing high demand on the safety band. This report presents the results of the study, which will help shape future decisions and recommendations regarding communication technology use in future CDA use cases and applications.
