Abstract:

This techbrief  focuses on an extensive analysis of available data regarding the weathering performance of steels in different environments, effects of different conventional and nonconventional alloying elements on weathering of steels, and mechanisms leading to the reduced corrosion rates of those steels with the goal of suggesting ways to improve the weathering characteristics of modified existing steels.
