This fact sheet provides information regarding the NRC Research Associateship Program (RAP), FHWA and how it is able to offer qualified individuals opportunities to work on research problems within its laboratories and offices. The National Academy of Sciences (formerly the National Research Council (NRC)) postdoctoral research associates work alongside FHWA researchers to achieve innovative research and make discoveries that could ultimately lead to safer roads, longer-lasting infrastructure, and environmentally sound and efficient transportation systems.
