Research Assistance to the Department of State to Develop and Optimize Effective Anti-Ram Devices
Project Information
The Department of State (DOS) has been conducting research to develop effective new anti-ram devices, and to improve the performance of current designs. The purpose of these barriers is to protect against vehicular bomb threats by arresting the attacking vehicle at the greatest distance possible from critical infrastructure elements.
The objective of this project is to conduct analyses and evaluations to assess concepts, consider security issues, understand the causes of failures, improve barrier designs, facilitate the deployment of innovative treatments, and/or assess the effects of changing threat and impact conditions.
