Project Abstract:
The creation of a web-based software platform for The National Bridge Investment Analysis System (NBIAS) will modernize software code and provide improved software accessibility across USDOT. This project lays the foundation for a multi-year effort including development of the cloud-based software framework using the DOT-wide software engineering services (SWES) BPA in coordination with FHWA IT and NBIAS subject matter experts. After the framework is developed, future research efforts will include design and development of the software, as well as coding and testing.

- Cloud-based platform for NBIAS.
Project Outcomes/Impact:
To provide FHWA staff and the public access to the NBIAS software. Conversion to a cloud-based format will help reduce security risks that make it difficult to load NBIAS on FHWA computers for in-house use. It will also reduce current staff effort to facilitate software installation by external users.
