Management and Maintenance of the Highway Safety Information System (HSIS)
Project Information
The objective of this task order is to manage and operate the highway safety information system (HSIS) program by, integrating and maintaining existing and forthcoming data and tools, optimizing economies of scale by using evolving tools, documenting the value of HSIS cost-savings using the pedestrian and bicycle crash analysis tool (PBCAT), Charlotte geospatial tool, and Dataverse; and deploying these tools to improve data provision, and providing targeted analytical support.
The existing system shall be maintained, and additional years of crash, roadway, and traffic data shall be acquired as they become available from the participating seven States and one urban center. System maintenance will include monitoring and upgrading of the system to take advantage of state of the art computer hardware and software. The continued operation of the laboratory virtually, providing data management and statistical support, shall also be undertaken.
