Intersection Control for Autonomous Vehicles
Project Information
Traffic control algorithms for autonomous vehicles will be developed, tested, and evaluated in simulation, with a full-size robotic vehicle. The control algorithms will be developed to support an environment where vehicles are communicating with each other and with roadside equipment. The traffic control algorithms will deliver time slot reservations to individual vehicles with automated control systems that can ensure the vehicle arrives at the intersection at its reserved time slot. This is an Exploratory Advanced Research (EAR) program project with the University of Texas at Austin, which is contributing a 50 percent match to the project value.
