Adaptive Control Software (ACS) Lite is a traffic signal timing technology that was created to improve traffic flow in small and medium-size communities by adjusting signal timing to accommodate changing traffic patterns.
The average improvement to traffic flow observed in field tests on typical weekday shows a 22 percent reduction in travel time and over 4,000 gallons of fuel savings per intersection annually. Testing in Florida and other locations around the country have shown an estimated roadway user cost savings from $88,000 to $757,000 annually. In addition, this technology is easily deployable, compatible with existing closed loop systems, and can be installed at a low cost.
This technology is currently be used in the following states: Ohio, California, Texas and Florida.
