Project Abstract:
(1) Under Development of Crash Modification Factors (DCMF):
Task A; develop reliable crash modification factors (CMFs).
(2) Under DCMF:
Task B; finding new statistical methodologies and improving existing ones, conduct CMFs Gap analysis, research needs, and stakeholder meetings, determine high-priority national safety concerns and their corresponding focus states for systemic safety improvements and evaluations, and other tasks as required.
Goals
This study will:
- Develop scientific and reliable CMFs for low-cost to high-cost priority safety improvements.
- Advance highway safety research for before/after evaluation by finding new statistical methodologies and improving existing ones.
- Conduct CMFs, gap analysis, research needs, and stakeholder meetings.
- Determine high priority national safety concerns and their corresponding focus states for systemic safety improvements and evaluations.
- Others as identified.
