In Commemoration

Lucio Aleman, Jr., 33, from the Technical Operations Staff. Oklahoma Division. Lucio began his career with FHWA in 1989 as a highway engineer trainee in the Highway Engineering Training Program. Upon his successful completion of the program, he moved to Oklahoma City where he has served as the safety program engineer since February 1994.

Mark A Bolte, 28, from the Technical Operations Staff, Oklahoma Division. Mark began his career with FHWA in 1991 as a highway engineer trainee in the Highway Engineering Training Program. After successfully completing the program, he worked in Austin, Texas, before joining the Oklahoma Division staff in January 1995.

Michael J. Carrillo, 44, from the Office of Motor Carrier Safety, Oklahoma Division. Michael served FHWA for 15 years and, since 1992, was the state director for the Oklahoma Office of Motor Carrier Safety. Before joining the Oklahoma office, Michael worked as a highway safety specialist in North Carolina and Iowa. He served in the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Army for a total of eight years.

Larry L. Jones, 46, with the Technical Operations Staff, Oklahoma Division. Larry began working with FHWA in 1992 when he was appointed as a computer specialist in the Oklahoma Division. Previously, he served two separate 10-year periods in the U.S. Air Force and also worked for the Federal Aviation Administration as an air traffic controller.

James K. Martin, 34, from the Field Operations Staff, Oklahoma Division. James began his career with FHWA in 1990 as a highway engineer trainee in the Highway Engineer Training Program. After successfully completing the program, he worked in the Minnesota Division before coming to the Oklahoma Division in February 1995.

Jerry L. Parker, 45, from the Field Operations Staff, Oklahoma Division. Jerry served FHWA for more than 20 years, most recently as an area engineer in the Oklahoma Division. Before moving to Oklahoma City, he worked in the Kansas, Texas, and North Dakota Divisions.

Michelle A. Reeder, 33, from the Administrative Staff, Oklahoma Division. Michelle had been working with FHWA for approximately eight months as an office automation assistant. Before coming to FHWA, she worked for the Department of Navy.

Ricky L. Tomlin, 46, from the Office of Motor Carriers, Oklahoma Division. Ricky joined FHWA in May 1987 as a highway safety specialist trainee in the Motor Carrier Safety Program. He worked as a specialist in Raleigh, N.C., before moving to Oklahoma City.

Johnny A. Wade, 42, from the Planning and Research Staff, Oklahoma Division. Johnny served the federal government for 20 years, 16 of which were with FHWA. Prior to joining the Oklahoma Division in 1991 as a field operations engineer, he worked in the Arkansas, Texas, and Maryland Divisions.

Ronota A. Woodbridge, 31, from the Technical Operations Staff, Oklahoma Division. Ronota began her career with FHWA in the Oklahoma Division in 1990.

John Youngblood, 52, from the Office of Motor Carriers, Oklahoma Division. John began his career with the Department of Transportation in 1980 as a FHWA safety specialist. He served FHWA in New mexico, Arkansas, Texas, and Oklahoma, and he also worked for the Federal Aviation Administration and the Research and Special Programs Administration. At RSPA, he was instructor at the Transportation Safety Institute from 1989 to March of this year, when he transferred back to the Oklahoma Division. John was critically injured in the bombing and passed away May 12.
