Green River Ferry Ramp Extension

Project Description

Due to the dam failure about fifteen miles downstream from the Green River Ferry, the water levels at the ferry crossing are expected to drop to the point where the ferry cannot effectively operate throughout the year. The project consists of removing and reconstructing a portion of the existing roadway approaches to the Green River Ferry crossing, extending the ramps further into the river, protecting existing historic stone walls adjacent to ferry ramps, drainage improvements, scour protection, and other incidental work related to the ramp reconstruction. The project is located on Maple Spring Ranger Station Road (Green River Ferry Road/Stockholm Road) west from the Mammoth Cave Entrance Road and south of State Route 1827 (Cub Run Road).
