Quincy Junction Road

Project Description

Quincy Junction Road provides access from the town of Quincy to multiple trail connections in the Plumas National Forest. In the project area, Quincy Junction Road and the bridge over Greenhorn Creek, have no shoulders or other accommodations for use by cyclists, pedestrians, and equestrians. The road has poor sight distance through the forested section due to the forest vegetation and alignment changes. Many road users have expressed safety concerns to the Plumas County Public Works Department because of the short sight distances and multi-modal uses of the road.  The purpose of this project is to improve roadway safety for all users by increasing the width of both travel lanes, adding shoulders, widening or replacing the bridge, rehabilitating ditches, replacing some culverts, and re-locating some utilities.
