Pierce Point Road

Project Description

The proposed project consists of rehabilitating all 9.32 miles of Pierce Point Road. Improvements will consist of pavement rehabilitation and clear zone improvements along with repair or replacement of 36 culverts and 4 cattle crossings.

Pierce Point Road provides the only access to the northern portion of Point Reyes National Seashore and is severely deteriorated due to the lack of a sufficient sub-base and ongoing pavement failures. The road will be reconstructed and widened to current standards to improve access and provide safe passage for park visitors and agricultural support vehicles servicing the dairy and ranch operations on lands leased by the National Park Service.
