Cushing Creek Box Culvert

Project Development

This project replaces the deteriorating Cushing Creek box culvert that serves Enderts Beach Road, which is a historic section of the original highway 101 corridor. The existing 60 linear feet, 4-foot by 4-foot concrete box culvert exhibits significant invert abrasion due to the high velocity and sediment load from Cushing Creek. The culvert invert has multiple voids and water flow is undermining the culvert structure. The culvert lies approximately 18-foot deep under the roadway surface. This project serves as a proactive measure to ensure that a catastrophic collapse of the Cushing Creek box culvert does not occur.
