Project Description: 

Historic American Engineering Record, with guidance from the National Historic Landmarks (NHL) program, will undertake a context study of historic covered bridges. Context studies assess the national significance of individual resources and are the first step in the development of National Historic Landmarks (NHL) nominations, the highest official recognition of historic properties designated by the Secretary of the Interior.
